ISEY Fischimport GmbH was founded in March 1989. Their core business is the import of fresh fish from Iceland for the German and European market.
Rammi hf has two processing plants, one in Fjallabyggd and one in Thorlakshofn. The fleet consists of four vessels. A freezer trawler (catching Cod, Haddock, Saithe, Redfish and Greenland Halibut) and three fresh fish vessels (catching Prawns, Flatfish, Lobster and Redfish). The plant in Thorlakshofn is a lobster- and fish plant, while there is a prawn factory in Fjallabyggd.
Employees at the company are about 200 thereof 100 in the fish plant Thorlakshofn. The production of Icelandic cod products is about 1100 tons/year.
The company is only using Icelandic fresh raw material. Fish is sourced mainly from the companies own boats (Jon a Hofi, Frodi II and Mulaberg), but they are also buying fish from auction fish markets. The main product is frozen light salted cod. This is their first application to RFM Chain of Custody audit.
ÚA is an advanced white fish processing plant located in Akureyri, Samherji’s home town. The plant employs 130 people and has a good reputation for producing quality fresh and frozen white fish for the European and other markets.
Operating in a system of resource management where the aim is sustainable fishing, Samherji, founded in 1983, is a leading seafood company in Iceland. Samherji is a vertically integrated seafood company, controlling a significant volume of fishing quota, operating a powerful fleet of fishing vessels; freezer and fresh fish trawlers, as well as multi purpose vessels, white fish factories and fish farming. Samherji also runs extensive sales and marketing operations which are coordinated at the company´s head office. Samherji runs a large and very advanced whitefish plant in Dalvik, producing wide variety of fresh and frozen fish products as well as dried fish. Samherji´s head office is located in Akureyri.
VSV is one of Iceland’s biggest fisheries companies with large fishing operations, fish processing, sales and marketing; in other words, it handles all aspects of its production, from fishing to markets/consumers.
